Muirfield Golf Transfers & Chauffeur Tours

Muirfield is the home of the Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers — the oldest organised golf club in the world (1744). The course, designed by Old Tom Morris in 1891 and refined by Harry Colt, is widely considered the fairest of the Open rota: the two loops of nine sit inside each other, so the wind is met from every direction over 18 holes. Access is limited and formal — we treat every arrival here accordingly.

Sixteen Open Championships have been staged at Muirfield, from Harold Hilton in 1892 to Phil Mickelson in 2013. The clubhouse is austere and legendary; the lunch is famous. The club opened its membership to women in 2017 and continues to host the AIG Women's Open on rotation.

Return chauffeur transfers to Muirfield (The Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers) start from £600 return from Dundee and from £400 return from Edinburgh Airport (EDI), with clubs, luggage and waiting time included.

Drive times: Edinburgh city centre — 35 min (18 mi); Edinburgh Airport — 50 min (25 mi); The Balmoral, Edinburgh — 40 min (19 mi); North Berwick — 10 min (4 mi); Glasgow Airport — 1 hr 30 min (72 mi).

Recommended vehicle: Bentley Mulsanne or Rolls-Royce Ghost. Muirfield's tone is quiet, formal, discreet. A Ghost or Mulsanne arrival fits the setting; a hospitality-branded shuttle does not.

East Lothian triangle — 3 courses: Day 1 Muirfield. Day 2 North Berwick West Links (10 minutes east — one of the most enjoyable rounds in Scotland). Day 3 Renaissance Club (10 minutes west — modern member's club, Scottish Open host). Base in Edinburgh or at Greywalls Hotel adjacent to Muirfield.

Pickup discreet, drop-off at the clubhouse gate. Chauffeur waits off-site during the round on request. Dress code is enforced — we can hold your travel bag in the car and return you to the hotel for a change before dinner.

How do we secure a Muirfield tee time? Visitor tee times are limited to Tuesdays and Thursdays. We work with several agents who handle the club's application process.

Is lunch really that famous? Yes. If your host has arranged it, allow two hours between the morning round and afternoon foursomes.

Can you cover Renaissance Club and North Berwick in the same visit? Yes — all three within 15 minutes of each other. Ideal three-day East Lothian trip.
